
Dr. Anoop Sayal, BSc., DDS.Dr. Sayal graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Biochemistry in 1988. He graduated with honours, having received many awards and accolades. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1992, once again graduating with honours. He received numerous awards while at the Faculty of Dentistry and spearheaded many fundraising campaigns. He spent one summer researching the properties of composite (white) fillings. His research was presented at dental meetings in Calgary and Scotland. Dr. Sayal was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honours Dental Society, one of only four students in his graduating class to receive this honour.
This was in recognition of his outstanding academic and extracurricular activities. Dr. Sayal was elected as served as Secretary of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Dentistry. After graduation, he moved to Mississauga and immediately received privileges at the Credit Valley Hospital. Dr. Sayal was an Associate in Dentistry in the department of surgery from 1992-1996 where he practiced Emergency and in-patient dentistry.
He is a firm believer in lifelong learning and is continually taking continuing education courses to improve what he can offer to his patients. Courses have included advanced cosmetic dentistry, laser dentistry, practice management, periodontal ( gum disease ), and endodontic ( root canal treatment ), etc. “My patients demand the best and most up to date services we can offer. Dentistry is changing rapidly. Many of my patients are now demanding cosmetic “ Extreme Makeovers ”. I am excited and pleased to be able to offer these plus many other services to my patients and I plan to continually take some of the most advanced and challenging courses available to keep on the forefront of Dentistry”.
He is a member in good standing of the Ontario Dental Association and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons. Dr. Sayal believes that community service goes hand in hand with serving in Georgetown. He has worked with many community groups, most notably the Georgetown Bread Basket. 2003 marks the sixth year for his annual Christmas Food Drive. In 2003, Dr. Sayal held a fundraiser hosted by Toronto
Maple Leaf legend Johnny Bower. All monies raised directly benefited the Bread Basket. It was an overwhelming success, and he is always planning different ways to better the community. Outside of his practice, Dr. Sayal has served as a Peel Regional Police Auxiliary Officer for three years, where he ”took a bite out of crime”. He is an avid stamp collector, and enjoys hockey, baseball and spending time with his family.
Dr. Sayal has been happily married to his beautiful wife Anita. They have two beautiful children. His son Arun and his daughter Alisha. “ My focus now is to spend more time with my family along with pursuing advanced dental training courses.. I will be cutting back my hours, so you will see new faces in my office. Patients can rest assured that they will continue to receive the same high quality service they are accustomed to”.
Dr. Sayal is proud to be able to serve Georgetown and the surrounding community for the past fifteen years. His true compassion,kindness and caring keep his patients loyal. His sense of humour is an added bonus.
